Established in 2006 and managed by the renowned Sha-Shib Group, Indian Aerospace, and Engineering (IAE), Mumbai stands as a leading CAR-147 (Basic) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) institute recognized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Known for its exceptional DGCA results, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and strong industry connections, IAE is one of the most advanced institutions for AME training in India. The campus features a functional Aircraft Hangar with operational aircraft, including the Fokker F 27 (52-seater) and Beechcraft Bonanza A35, offering students hands-on learning opportunities. Practical training is further enhanced through partnerships with industry leaders like Indamer Aviation Pvt. Our History

Indian Aerospace and Engineering is part of Sha-Shib Group, which was founded in 1994 and is operated by the Institute of Management & Technologies. It has a distinguished record in the National Cadre for training in the aviation industry and emerged as one of the best colleges for aircraft maintenance engineering. The institute's current emphasis is on teaching its student's aircraft maintenance engineering at different local and international airlines, MROs, flying clubs, aviation institutes, aviation technical support organizations, etc., both in India and overseas, and emerged as one of the top aircraft maintenance engineering colleges. The Sha-Shib Group took it a step further, positioning it as one of South Asia's premier and largest aircraft maintenance engineering institutes. This organization has now delivered a variety of academic programs for 33 illustrious years. Every time they perform well in a DGCA exam, our pupils are a source of pride for us.

IAE provides world-class AME training backed by cutting-edge infrastructure, DGCA-approved curriculums, and practical exposure through its own Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities. These MRO bases, fully compliant with CAR 145 standards, allow students to gain hands-on experience on live and functional aircraft. Infrastructure and Facilities

Indian Aerospace and Engineering (IAE) boasts a team of highly qualified, experienced, and well-trained faculty dedicated to delivering top-notch education. The academic activities at IAE are overseen by a Centralized Academic Council, guided by over 15 licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, and various industry experts. This mentorship offers students invaluable insights and practical knowledge, enhancing their learning experience. IAE provides excellent facilities to support its students’ education and hands-on training. These include modern and well-equipped instrument labs, electrical labs, radio navigation labs, jet and piston engine labs, airframe shops, machine shops, and a variety of specialized workshops. Additionally, students benefit from access to a comprehensive technical library and advanced, state-of-the-art classrooms, creating an ideal environment for academic excellence and practical skill development.

Training and Placement cell

MRO Facilities

The institute provides outsourced practical training in real-world settings at Maintenance and Repair Organizations (MROs) located within the Mumbai International Airport. This enables students to acquire comprehensive practical knowledge in an operational environment. For aspiring AMEs, enrolling at IAE Mumbai offers a significant advantage, due to its extensive infrastructure and partnerships with DGCA-approved CAR 145 MRO bases. These facilities allow students to gain hands-on maintenance experience, which is essential for obtaining their AME licence. Additionally, IAE Mumbai is also a DGCA-approved Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul organization under CAR 145. As part of the Sha-Shib Group, students benefit from access to 13 MRO facilities and operational aircraft, ensuring they receive valuable, industry-relevant training during their academic journey.

Different categories of Aircraft

Access to a diverse range of functional aircraft provides students with opportunities for demonstration-based learning and practical familiarization. This hands-on experience enhances their understanding and boosts their confidence, helping them perform better during job interviews. It also complements the mandatory outsourced practical training stipulated in the DGCA-approved Maintenance Training Organization Exposition (MTOE). IAE Mumbai is equipped with a dedicated Aircraft Hangar housing functional aircraft, including:

- Fokker F 27 – A 52-seater public transport aircraft

- Beechcraft Bonanza A35 – A versatile light aircraft
