Aircraft maintenance experience provides aspiring Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) with hands-on training through direct involvement in maintenance, inspections, and repairs of aircraft. This practical exposure is vital as it equips engineers with the technical expertise required to ensure the safety and operational efficiency of aircraft. To obtain an AME license, candidates must complete a designated period of maintenance experience in accordance with DGCA regulations and ICAO international standards. This training is conducted under the guidance of licensed professionals, fostering the critical skills necessary for the role.
Under CAR 147 (Basic), introduced by DGCA, practical training in real-world environments is mandatory. To meet this requirement, Sha-Shib has partnered with leading aviation organizations such as Air India, Deccan Air works, Flybig, Indamer, GMR, Alchemist Aviation, Indocopters, and more. These collaborations provide students with invaluable industry exposure and hands-on experience.
The Institute of Aeronautics and Engineering (IAE) Mumbai, supported by the renowned Sha-Shib Group—South Asia’s largest AME training organization under CAR 147 (Basic)—ensures comprehensive practical training. IAE Mumbai has established practical tie-ups with prominent organizations like Indamer Aviation Pvt. Ltd., Air Works India Engineering Pvt. Ltd., and AIESL - AI Engineering Services Ltd., offering students real-world insights and preparation for their future careers.
